Transport / Sumburgh to Glasgow flight diverts to Aberdeen after technical issue
A LOGANAIR plane flying from Sumburgh to Glasgow diverted to Aberdeen earlier today (Tuesday) as a precaution following a technical issue.
The plane landed safely at Aberdeen Airport at around 1.30pm.
Reports suggest that one of the aircraft’s two engines shut down halfway through the flight, but the airline would not confirm that until an investigation into the incident has been completed.
A spokesperson for Loganair would only say: “We can confirm LM346 from Sumburgh to Glasgow has been diverted to Aberdeen for a precautionary landing following a technical issue.
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is of the utmost importance to us.
“Customers were transported to Glasgow by air on an alternative aircraft and we thank them for their patience.”
