Letters / Disgraceful
Just when I thought that Viking Energy could sink no lower, they have now reached rock bottom.
To name a turbine after Lottie of Sandwater (and not by the name Halfway House) is a crass insult to the memory of the lady concerned.
Sergeant Swoosh and Lottie among names contributed by children for Viking turbines
I knew Lottie and how tormented she was in her declining years by the Viking Energy construction that was going ahead right outside her house.
Ms Robertson also donated a considerable amount of money to Sustainable Shetland in the fight to have this project stopped.
What would she have thought now about her bit of croft all being dug up for cables? Why does the education department allow the blatant indoctrination of young minds to the cult of green energy and who is responsible for its authorisation- has it become part of the curriculum?
To allow this to go ahead is frankly disgraceful.
