Letters / Privatise the inter-island ferry service

With regards to our current inter-island ferry crisis – crisis or unreal moral panic?

To avoid the internal SIC’s inability to manage anything and the SIC/Scottish Government/Westminster money ping-pong and blame game, simply privatise the ferry service as soon as possible with the islands served owning the company.

A one off payment from the SIC’s reserve fund of £150 million with investment from some of SIC Pension Fund, for a return of course.

Fair Isle Ferry – National Trust for Scotland as owners of Islands should contribute half or certainly significantly to ferry building and running costs.  Have you seen who are on the trust’s board? Loaded, as are their pals.
