Community / Pop-up shop to raise funds for people of Palestine

SHETLAND Solidarity with Refugees is hosting a pop-up shop to raise funds for the people of Palestine.

Anyone with donations is asked to drop them off at the former Globe butchers shop on Lerwick’s Commercial Road on Friday and Saturday, 12pm to 4pm.

Items wanted include clothes, toys, books, houseware and bric-a-brac.

The pop-up shop will be open in the former Globe premises from Monday 15 July to Saturday 20 July.

Shetland Solidarity with Refugees said it is happy to receive donations through the week too.

The group said “unfortunately no actual aid can get through at this time” but money donations can help.

It said it still intends to send aid to other charities it supports – Refuweegee and Aid for Ukraine.
