Court / Man admits drug supply charges
SENTENCING of a 33-year-old man has been adjourned until later this month after he admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine at two addresses in Lerwick and Tingwall on 2 April.
Alexander Chalmers, whose address was given as HMP Grampian, also pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally obstructing two police officers who wanted to search him for controlled drugs at Lerwick’s King Harald Street on 2 April.
Chalmers attended court via videolink from prison where he is in custody.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said he would give a full narration of the case at the next court hearing.
He said the cocaine confiscated had a potential street value of £1,610 while the heroin seized by police officers was valued at £11,200 if broken down to the smallest amounts.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank asked for a criminal justice social report, and Chalmers was remanded in custody.
A review of a community payback order relating to a different case has also been deferred until 31 July.
