Election / What issues should candidates be addressing during the general election campaign?

THE SCOTTISH Beacon – a co-operative of independently owned local news outlets across Scotland – have prepared a short questionnaire to allow citizens to set the agenda in the current election coverage.

The Citizen Agenda is an attempt to get answers from candidates to the most pressing issues in their constituencies.

As a member of the Scottish Beacon collaborative, Shetland News is sharing the link to the questionnaire here and calls on readers to spend a few minutes to fill it in.

Alternatively, Shetland News can be contacted directly with questions for candidates at news@shetnews.co.uk

Our own election page with personal statements from all six candidates in the Orkney and Shetland constituency can meanwhile be found at https://www.shetnews.co.uk/category/features/general-election-2024/

More election coverage, including on Tuesday’s two hustings in Brae and Lerwick, will follow over coming days.
