Emergency services / Four appliances sent to Girlsta heather fire
THE FIRE service is currently working to put out a heather/grass fire near the A970 in Girlsta.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the area measures around 500 metres by 500 metres.
They said the call came in shortly before 10am this morning (Friday), with four appliances mobilised from Lerwick, Brae, Walls and Sandwick.
The spokesperson said at around 11.15am: “There are no reported casualties and crews are currently still at the scene.”
The police are also at the scene.
