Weather / Weather continues to cause some problems

PUBLIC transport across Shetland is once again affected as the unsettled spell of weather continues.

Following yesterday’s widespread power cuts as a result of Storm Gerrit, new outrages in Unst, Gulberwick and Quarff have been reported this morning.

There is a single vessel service operating on Yell Sound at the moment. Other inter islands ferry services may become affected by the weather during the day, the council advises.

NorthLink Ferries will be operating tonight but the southbound service will not call at Orkney and sail directly to Aberdeen departing Lerwick at 5.30pm.

The northbound Hrossey will sail from Aberdeen as scheduled but arrival in Lerwick is likely to be delayed by up to two hours.
