Community / Local titles nominated for media awards
SHETLAND News has landed two nominations in this year’s Highlands and Islands Media Awards.
It is up for the website of the year prize alongside the Inverness Courier and We Love Stornoway.
Reporter Chris Cope is nominated for the ‘environment and sustainability writer of the year’ award for stories written about the effects of the wintry weather last year which caused significant disruption across Shetland.
Meanwhile The Shetland Times is nominated in the newspaper of the year category, going up against the Inverness Courier and the Oban Times.
The Shetland Times’ Chloe Irvine is also up for the young reporter of the year award.
The award winners will be revealed at a press ball event in Inverness on 2 February.
