Letters / A water taxi, not a lifeline service!
Our local short haul cruise operator is often spoken of as a lifeline service. If my life was on the line I’d rather travel by helicopter or perhaps plane, maybe a really fast car.
I can see the logic in the phrase being applied to the freight ferry, but I don’t think it works for what is essentially a water taxi that can carry vehicles.
I have absolutely no complaints about the service provided by NorthLink. After five years I’ve learnt that cabins are a waste of money (unless someone else is paying) and the best travel combination is a reclining seat (free) and a pass to the Magnus Lounge.
I have yet to use any of my annual vouchers which I believe are available. I’m not sure what they are for, or how to claim them. To be honest, I’m not really interested.
I look forward to the day when I no longer have any reason to leave Shetland, my lair is bought and paid for, so I’ll be around for a while.
