Weather / September temperature record broken
A NEW record has been set today (Friday) for the highest temperature recorded in Shetland in September.
The thermometer reached a record 22.1C in Baltasound. The previous September record was 20.4C.
A new September maximum temperature was also reached for the Lerwick Observatory too, at 20.2C.
The all-time maximum temperature recoded in Shetland was 25C in Baltasound back in 1958.
