Letters / Mair pleepsin’
I read with interest your recent piece concerning the recent visit of the Minister for Social Care.
Mair pleepsin’ by Ms Wishart about more centralisation is not just wasted hot air but completely disingenuous given the Lib Dems have no policy on greater island autonomy, in fact they oppose greater local democracy, which would – if properly campaigned for and won – resolve local care issues and allow us the freedom and flexibility to seek the required portion of private finance needed for our tunnels, as in the Faroe Islands.
A second summer of Beatrice and Alistair’s pleepsin’ holiday tour about the tunnels – Tunnel Vision indeed on their part – will of course only serve them to attempt to garner more pleepsin’ material to foist on us through the various local media outlets.
Instead of encouraging and supporting the cause to seek the powers and influence locally, a la ZCC Act by their truly liberal predecessor Jo Grimond, to get things done, given their impotence at Holyrood and Westminster, and both those houses wishing the status quo or even more centralisation to keep a keen grip on the tax we provide to their exchequers.
