THE BLUEMULL Sound ferry service will face more disruption tomorrow (Friday) due to a crewing issue.

The ferry will operate with one ferry on a Saturday timetable from 2.30pm to 5.40pm.

During this time bookings will be suspended.

Shetland Islands Council said it wished to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The Facebook page for the groups currently fundraising for investigations into fixed links to Unst and Yell said “this is why we need tunnels”.

On Wednesday the service was temporarily reduced to a single vessel after a mechanical fault with the Bigga.

The Bluemull Sound service was also suspended entirely for two and a half hours on Monday evening due to a crewing issue.

A spokesperson for Shetland Islands Council said the delay enabled a staff member to be brought in from the mainland as cover.
