Marine / Lifeboat called to grounded yacht
THE LERWICK lifeboat came to the aid of a grounded yacht after being called out in the early hours of the morning (Wednesday).
Three uninjured crew members were taken onboard the lifeboat for safety while waiting for the tide to rise to allow the yacht to be towed.
The yacht was then towed in by the lifeboat. The Lerwick coastguard rescue team was also sent to assist.
The incident happened in the north entrance of Lerwick, with the call coming in at around 3.40am.
Meanwhile the large LNG tanker Ineos Intrepid has now arrived in Dales Voe for repairs after suffering a mechanical fault around 70 miles west of Sumburgh Head.
