Health / Third ‘living well’ hub to open in Bressay

SHETLAND’S third Living Well Hub will open next week at Speldiburn in the old Bressay school.

The existing hubs are located in Brae and Scalloway at the youth and community centres.

They offer drop-in services for those requiring information about health and care support in the isles, including voluntary groups as well as council and NHS services.

Ruth MacMillan, executive manager for adult social work, said: “I’m happy that the roll-out of Community Led Support in Shetland is continuing with a further Living Well Hub for Bressay.

“The two hubs at Brae and Scalloway have proved to be very successful.

“It’s a useful way for folk to access a wide range of services and support, and we’re hoping that the facility at Speldiburn will be equally popular.”

The Bressay hub will be open every Wednesday from 28 June between 2pm and 4pm.
