SHETLAND Pride has launched a new website ahead of its second festival this summer.
The event will be held in Lerwick on 1 July, with tickets going on sale for the night-time festivities from the start of June.
Chairperson Gary Mouat said: “The committee have been busy getting everything organised and booked for this year’s festival, and plans are well underway.
“We have so much more on offer for this year, and we can’t wait for the community to be able to come along and celebrate all things LGBTQ+.”
THE ORIGINAL Cake Fridge is set to begin providing bakes to Mareel’s café bar.
Lynn Johnson, owner of the cake fridge in East Burrafirth told Shetland News: “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with Shetland Arts in providing a regular supply of our famous cakes and bakes to complement their sweet and savoury offerings at Mareel.
“It’s a fantastic venue and we think it’s really lovely that customers have the option to access our handmade goodies in Lerwick.”
SHETLAND MSP Beatrice Wishart says more than 800 people have responded to a survey she launched this week about booking travel with NorthLink Ferries.
It comes amid pressure on the ferry operator’s capacity this summer.
The survey questions are designed to better understand the booking experience of passengers on Shetland’s lifeline ferry route and will be used to press the company and Scottish ministers to improve the service.
The survey can be found here.
THE PROGRAMME for Shetland Climate Festival has been announced.
There will be a range of events at Clickimin on 9 and 10 June to celebrate positive work being done to mitigate climate change in Shetland.
As well as an exhibition hall, there will be speakers, workshops, and local food provided by Taste of Shetland.
