Connectivity / Internet services out west restored
HOUSEHOLDS in Shetland’s Westside experiencing disruption to their internet and telephone services have been reconnected.
Service provider Openreach Scotland confirmed tonight (Thursday) that due to an “issue within a fibre joint in a cable going west” broadband services in Wall and Bixter were affected.
A spokesperson for Openreach said that services in Walls have now been restored while repair work in Bixter has just been completed (9.30pm).
“We are sorry for today’s disruption to service,” the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, BT has confirmed that it had a short outage in Lerwick this morning affecting a few hundred customers.
