Housing / In pictures: Demolition work progressing at Sandveien

DEMOLITION is well underway on eight council houses at Sandveien in Lerwick.

The Shetland Islands Council project will see the houses replaced with modern, energy efficient homes.

The overall cost is around £2.5 million, and this includes just over £700,000 of Scottish Government ‘More Homes’ funding.

Local firm DITT was awarded the contract for the project.
