Paid for contentFilming of crime drama series moves to Sandsound on Friday
FILMING of the popular Shetland crime drama moves to Sandsound beach, near Tresta, on Friday 7 April.
In order to do that safely the ITV Shetland crew has been granted a road closure for the entire Sandsound road between 8am and 9pm on that day.
Location manager Davie Gardner said: “This is highlighted on the attached map in red and will be managed via a consistently manned via a ‘Stop/Go’ traffic management system.
“Any traffic ‘holds’ will be for a very limited time however – amounting to no more than a few minutes at a time.”
Gardner added: “Access to all residential properties, businesses, crofts etc in the area will be maintained at all times.
“This will be managed by our locations crew with a view to ensuring everyone’s safety and to limit any filming or production traffic impact on the area in general, while access for emergency situations and animal welfare etc will, of course, also be permissible at all times.
“Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any specific access needs (e.g., deliveries, house move, disabled access) so that we can make provisions for you and assist you in any way possible.
“We would also like to ask if anybody with a driveway or parking area might be willing to accommodate some of our production vehicles.
“If you are able to help in this way, it would be subject to the payment of a small fee.
“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience our filming related activity may cause and to thank you for your cooperation and patience.
“Please be assured it is our intention to cause the least possible disruption and/or inconvenience to you, and to work safely and respectfully while near your properties during this time.”
