Community / Local dentist dies suddenly on New Year’s Day
TRIBUTES are being paid after Lerwick dentist David Lubbe died suddenly on New Year’s Day aged 73.
Dr Lubbe, originally from Namibia, was a dentist in Shetland for almost 15 years.
The DentalShetland practice on Lerwick’s North Road will stay closed until a locum can be organised.
Any patients needing urgent attention are asked to either contact the Gilbert Bain Hospital on 01595 743000 or Montfield Dental Clinic 01595 743200.
His widow Cheryl said she has received hundreds of messages over recent days and was now in the process of organising a memorial service to mark her late husband’s life.
The service is expected to be held next week and further details will be released as they become available.
