Community / Da Cross feeling festive after Christmas tree goes up
IT’S that time of the year again – the Christmas tree is back up at the Market Cross in Lerwick.
The tree was put up this morning (Monday).
It comes ahead of the Living Lerwick Christmas parade, which kicks off at 3.15pm on Saturday (3 December)
Santa will arrive at Victoria Pier on the Lerwick Lifeboat before joining his merry friends for a procession along the street.
A Living Lerwick elf hunt will also take place across the centre of town from Saturday onwards, while the usual Christmas window display competition will also be held.
Meanwhile over in Scalloway the Christmas lights will be switched on outside the youth centre at 6.30pm on Thursday evening.
There will also be carols by the Christmas tree, mulled apple juice and mince pies.
