Business / Faerdie Maet to close later this month
A LONG-established Lerwick cafe and takeaway is closing its doors at the end of the month.
Faerdie Maet – commonly known by its previous name Solotti’s – will close at 3.30pm on Wednesday 30 November.
The business, well known for its rolls, was put up for sale in October.
It has been owned by Brenda Westmoreland since 1985, who is due to retire. The building has been run as a tearoom since the 1930s.
With the business currently running as a takeaway, the cafe/tearoom is not presently used although all the furniture and equipment is still in place and is included in the sale.
In a notice advertising the the last day of trading, the team said they wanted to thank customers for their support over the last 37-plus years.
