Court / Two men remanded for trial
TWO MEN from the west of Scotland have been remanded in custody ahead of trial after appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Marc Kerr, of Belhaven Park, Muirhead, and Derek Denholm, aged 44, with an address at Gartleahill, Airdrie, pleaded not guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive behaviour towards a woman at an address in Lerwick on Monday (29 August).
Kerr also denied obstructing police in the execution of their duty when they tried to arrest him on the same day at a different location in town.
The 28-year-old further denied behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards officers at Lerwick Police Station.
Bail applications for men were refused by Sheriff Ian Cruickshank. A trial date has been set for 13 October.
