Transport / Single vessel again for Yell Sound ferry service on Friday

SIC ferry Dagalien at the Toft terminal.

THE YELL Sound ferry service will again run with a single vessel tomorrow (Friday) to a shift timetable following a fault with the Dagalien‘s control system earlier this week.

The service has been reduced to a single vessel since Tuesday, with a specialist engineer drafted in to look at the problem.

Bookings are available for Friday, but those for the following runs are no longer valid and will have to be rebooked:

  • Ulsta to Toft – 0745, 0845, 0945, 1115, 1215, 1355, 1500, 1600, 1655
  • Toft to Ulsta – 0815, 0915, 1045, 1145, 1245, 1430, 1525, 1630, 1730

Anyone booked on these sailings is asked to rebook by contacting the booking office on 01595 745804 or by email on ferrybooking@shetland.gov.uk.

Apologising for the inconvenience caused, the council added that the crew will endeavour to put in extra runs where there is a build up of traffic.
