Transport / Aberdeen flights disrupted by unplanned runway maintenance
REPAIRS to the runway at Aberdeen Airport caused disruption to some flights to and from Shetland on Monday.
The airport said shortly before midday that unplanned maintenance was taking place, causing operations to be suspended.
In an update at 3.50pm, Aberdeen Airport said on Twitter that the work had finished and operations had resumed.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and passengers are advised to contact their airline for specific flight information,” it added.
“Passengers are being provided with refreshment vouchers and we will provide a further update as soon as the work is complete. Passengers are advised to contact their airline for specific flight information.”
A spokesperson for Loganair had said: “Flights to and from Aberdeen Airport face disruption today as unscheduled maintenance work at the airport has forced a temporary suspension to operations there. Loganair is liaising with Aberdeen Airport on ongoing updates and are communicating with all passengers affected.”
