Transport / Road to be closed off for resurfacing

THE A970 between the Brig o’ Fitch and the west Black Gaet junction will be closed for much of the day on Thursday (7 July) to allow for essential resurfacing.

The road will be closed to all traffic between 10am and 6pm.

A spokesperson for Shetland Islands Council said the service four bus which serves Lerwick and Scalloway will be diverted through the Black Gaet between 10am and 6.30pm on Thursday.

The stops affected by this will be at JRJ’s and the Shetland Hotel. Passengers are asked to use the stops at the top of the Holmsgarth Brae and outside the NorthLink Terminal instead.

The service will follow the published timetable during this period, although there may be short delays.

More information on the bus diversion routes can be found on the ZetTrans website.
