Health / Brae Health Centre to see emergency patients only due to staffing issues
BRAE Health Centre will be dealing with emergencies only for the rest of this week due to staffing issues.
People are advised that non-urgent requests will take longer to respond to.
NHS Shetland said “we apologise for this reduction in service, which is unavoidable, and would ask patients for their understanding and patience”.
In order to support the health centre in seeing patients who are in most need, people are asked to remember that their local pharmacy can help with minor ailments, and they should seek advice for minor issues at NHS Inform.
It is not the first time in recent months that a health centre in Shetland has reported staffing issues.
Brae itself was forced to temporarily cut its service last year when a visiting clinician was unable to travel to Shetland due to Covid isolation requirements.
