Arts / Calendar Girls play gets underway at the Garrison

Photo: Austin Taylor

THE CALENDAR Girls play started its run at the Garrison Theatre in Lerwick last night (Tuesday).

The above photo from the opening night shows the calendar girls discussing things with photographer Lawrence, played by Martin Summers.

The calendar girls from left to right are: Jennie Atkinson (Annie), Jackie Williamson (Cora), Morag Mouat (Chris), Donna-Marie Leask (Ruth), Mandy Phillips (Celia) and Morag Maver (Jessie).

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night’s performances from Islesburgh Drama Group are sold out.

It is the first large scale production in the Garrison Theatre since it closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

Meanwhile the drama group’s own charity calendar will be available for sale at the theatre during the interval and in the wider community throughout the year for £10.
