Community / Dance the night – and day – away at 24-hour charity fundraiser
PEOPLE are being invited to boogie on down at a 24-hour dance fundraiser for charity.
Ability Shetland is hosting the event at the multi-use studio at the Clickimin Leisure Complex in Lerwick on 1 and 2 April.
A range of types of dancing will take place throughout the 24 hours, and instructors will be on hand to lead some of the sessions.
It will start at 8am on 1 April with an hour of ‘dance medicine’.
Other sessions include beginners aerobics, a throwback disco and jazz dancing.
Eastern European flavoured band Odesa will also perform live between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
Things will heat up as the night progresses – with the Clickimin’s Loch Bar opening later on until 1am.
There will be house and techno sets for over 18s between 10pm and 2am, with a silent disco – where people listen to the music on headphones – then running to 7am.
To round things off there will be a yoga session from 7am to 8am.
Donations will be collected at the door.
A raffle and tuck shop will be available along with the facilities at the Loch Bar.
All money raised will help Ability Shetland to continue to run a variety of clubs and events throughout the year, as well as provide advice and information to service users and providers.
To avoid disappointment folk are asked to register by selecting a ticket to the dance they would like to attend.
People are welcome to attend multiple dances.
