Court / Two appear in private on separate court cases
A THIRTY four year old man has appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on an alleged sexual assault charge.
Laurence John Manson, of Shetland, made no plea, was committed further examination and released on bail after appearing on Wednesday morning.
He has been charged with contravening Section 3 of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.
Meanwhile, a 61 year old man who was remanded last week in relation to a number of charges including rape, also reappeared in private via video link.
Jeffrey Cheyne, of County Clare, again made no plea on six different charges and was fully committed for trial.
He is facing three charges of lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour, as well as indecent assault and assault charges.
