Court / Man remanded in custody on serious sexual offences
A SIXTY one year old man has been remanded in custody after appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday in private on a number of charges including rape.
Jeffrey Cheyne, of County Clare in Ireland, made no plea on a total of six charges when he appeared from custody.
He faced three charges of lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour, as well as indecent assault and assault charges.
Cheyne was committed for further examination and remanded ahead of his next court appearance.
