LIVING Lerwick’s best Christmas window competition has been won by Jamieson’s of Shetland.

Their White Witch of Narnia themed display, complete with hand knitted lace crown and collar, picked up the most public votes.

In second place was Peerie Isles, with Ninian third.

Meanwhile 12 shoppers have picked up vouchers worth up to £175 each through the Spend at Da Street loyalty scheme prize draw.

The winners were: Steven Jamieson, Brenda Forrest, Stephen Redpath, Raymond Arthur, Helen Denoon, Lynne Hobbin, Alison Coles, Billy Fullerton, Kelly Davison, Elaine Lyall, Louise Kok and P. Loynd.

Meanwhile the elf hunt trail continues to Friday this week, and many shops will be open late on Thursday for last-minute gifts.

Living Lerwick project manager Emma Miller said: “It’s been another challenging year for businesses in our town centre and as we come to the end of another year with tighter restrictions in place, business owners are once again stepping up to provide a safe shopping or socialising experience.

“We would remind everyone to take extra care when out and about and let’s all enjoy Christmas with our friends and family.

“I’d like to extend a thank you to everyone who has supported our local businesses this year on behalf of the Living Lerwick directors and the town centre businesses. It’s been a tough year and the support shown is very much appreciated.”

The Spend at da Street loyalty scheme will continue through 2022, with additional prizes provided through Scotland Loves Local funding.
