Transport / Yell ferry service down to single vessel
THE YELL Sound ferry service is operating with a single vessel this morning (Thursday) due to crew sickness.
It will run to a shift vessel timetable and bookings are suspended, but normal service is due to resume from 11.15am.
Meanwhile the Ulsta booking office in Yell has been closed to the public until further notice.
Bookings can still be made either online or by contacting the office direct on 01595 745804.
It comes after the Bressay service was reduced to a revised timetable yesterday following positive Covid cases among the crew.
Earlier this week a warning was made of the fragility of the ferry service when it came to staff potentially isolating.
