Community / Groups invited to bid for £124,000 community fund
LOCAL community groups with capital projects are being encouraged to express interest in a new Scottish Government fund.
A budget of £124,000 has been made available to Shetland Islands Council for this financial year to support projects which deliver on place policy ambitions such as “town centre revitalisation, community led regeneration and 20-minute neighbourhoods”
- The council is seeking expressions of interest from local projects which:
- Are driven by community needs and priorities
- Deliver on Scottish Government ambitions for net zero, wellbeing and inclusive economic development, tackling inequality and disadvantage, community involvement and ownership
- Require capital expenditure only
- Have all necessary consents and permissions in place
- Are ‘shovel ready’ and can commence and complete works before 31 March 2022.
Projects which are interested in bidding for this fund should complete and return this form to the council’s grants unit by Friday 22 October 2021.
Funds are limited and allocations will be made on the basis of need and fit with the above criteria.
