Letters / Galling
Just to clarify: there is no confusion on the community council about the different SSE companies.
We just find it galling that one side of the business (SSE Renewables) can take £2m a week from selling the power whilst another part (same shareholders) can say we’re not allowed to spend any of that money to make life better for the community.
SSE are quite happy to position themselves as one when it suits them. For example, on Wednesday night, SSEN were quite happy to talk about the community benefit fund when that has nothing to do with them. The community benefit fund comes from SSE Renewables.
