Letters / Can anyone help shed light on this family’s Shetland links?
I am desperately seeking anyone connected to the family of Harry and Isabella McKay Gunn Forbes. Harry and Isabella were originally from Aberdeen and after the death of Harry, Isabella spent time in Australia.
When she returned from Australia it is believed she resided with her daughter (possibly Bunty) in Shetland; where it is reported, on research websites, she died. No information can be found in respect of this through church, Salvation Army, police or register.
It is hoped, through this notice someone might have some information re the family!
My father was Harry Gunn Forbes (1937-1975), who was their son. Harry was in the Royal Navy who married Ann McDaid and resided in L’derry, Northern Ireland.
If light could be shed on the family journey, with the hope of contact I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you for reading this and for any help/information that might be offered.
Kind regards.
