Letters / Self-praise is no honour
It is interesting to note that SSE/Viking Energy have felt it necessary to produce another publication: Seeking to protect the Environment.
This is now available on their website and it extols the supposed virtues of their project. This, presumably, is an attempt to counter some of the widespread criticism that the project has been attracting.
I see no mention in the publication of the dozens of bird scarers deployed, the rock breaking and blasting, dust storms being created around tracks when the weather is dry, silt entering water courses when the weather is very wet or the diesel fumes from the heavy machinery deployed in the hills.
It is obvious to all who witness it that the construction phase of a large scale wind farm like Viking Energy Wind Farm is anything but environmentally friendly and no fancy publication is going to change that.
In any case, self-praise is no honour.
