News / Road open again after serious accident
THE A970 road near the north Sandwick junction reopened this morning (Thursday) following yesterday’s accident which saw three people taken to hospital.
The road had been closed, with a diversion in place, from Wednesday afternoon onwards.
The closure also allowed officers from the road policing unit to carry out investigations.
Emergency services were called to the two vehicle crash at 3pm.
Fire fighters had to use cutting equipment to help free some of the casualties from the vehicles.
