Coronavirus / Another three Covid cases confirmed
THREE more confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Shetland.
Shetland’s tally has risen by 16 over the space of a week.
Nationally nearly 3,900 new cases have been included in today’s (Wednesday) Scottish Government update.
There was a 9.8 per cent test positivity rate among the national results.
Despite the sharp rise in cases in Scotland first minister Nicola Sturgeon said while caution is urged, the impact of the vaccination programme is clear.
“Vaccines are now doing much of the work we needed heavy restrictions to do in the last wave,” she said. “And thankfully, we continue to see a much lower burden of serious illness.”
