Community / Council extends opening hours of town centre public toilets

THE PUBLIC toilets in the centre of Lerwick are set to be open for longer from Monday (7 June).

The opening hours will extend to 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Shower facilities at the same location are also being re-opened, since closing at the start of the pandemic.

Users are asked to bring their own towels if possible, although towels will available to hire, which will be quarantined for 48 hours before being washed.

The toilets at the Knab are also being re-opened with opening times of 8am to 8pm daily, following an enhanced cleaning schedule as with all other public toilets in Shetland.

Public toilets outside Lerwick are normally open 24 hours a day and have remained open since the start of the pandemic.

Full details on the location of Shetland’s public toilets can be found here.
