Business / Cod pate, sassermaet and beer up for national food and drink awards

THREE local businesses have been nominated for the Scottish Retail Food and Drink Awards.

Thule Ventus’ salt cod pate has been shortlisted in the fish category.

Uradale Farm, meanwhile, is nominated for an award for its beef sassermaet.

Finally, Lerwick Brewery is in the mix in the beer section for its Azacca Amarillo IPA.

Winners will be announced at 11am on 29 April following consideration from a panel of judges.

The organisers say the Scottish food and drink industry is worth around £14bn a year and is one of the most significant contributors to the country’s economy.
