Coronavirus / Health board confirms one new case of Covid-19
ANOTHER confirmed case of Covid-19 has been added to the local count in the latest figures published by the Scottish Government.
NHS Shetland said the case reported on Sunday is not connected to the recent cluster in the north Mainland but was confirmed in a person who “has come off a vessel”.
A spokesperson said that because the person was tested locally the test result has been added in the daily tally for Shetland.
This latest case in one of 422 newly reported cases of Covid-19 in Scotland over the last 24 hours.
The government said that 264 people remained in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19, and 22 were treated in intensive care. There were no new deaths reported in Scotland.
Meanwhile, the latest figures from Public Health Scotland show that more than 12,000 adults in Shetland, 65.1 per cent of the eligible population, have had their first dose of a Covid vaccine, while just over 2,500, or 13.5 per cent, have had their second dose.
