Community / End of the road for old Eric Gray centre
DEMOLITION work on the former Eric Gray Resource Centre in Lerwick has begun.
The council building at Kantersted Road was replaced by a new centre a stone’s throw away across the road in 2019.
Later that year councillors approved plans to demolish the old building, which opened in 1978.
The Eric Gray service provides specialist support for adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and complex needs.
Watch a short video above of the ongoing work taken on Thursday afternoon.
