Emergency services / Busy Sunday for emergency services

A FEMALE walker who fell near the lighthouse at Hamnavoe and injured her arm on Sunday afternoon was taken to hospital in Lerwick.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident in Burra at just before 3pm.

Meanwhile, the Sumburgh based search and rescue helicopter landed an injured fisherman at the Clickimin landing site at 10.20am on Sunday.

The injured man had been airlifted from a fishing boat north of Orkney.
