Coronavirus / Covid vaccines arrive in isles
SHETLAND’s first batch of Covid vaccines have now arrived in the isles.
NHS Shetland’s pharmacy team received the isles’ first delivery earlier today (Thursday).
The vaccination programme is expected to get underway on Friday.
Public health officials said last night (Wednesday) that NHS Shetland was “ready to go” to deliver the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines.
The vaccine, which is not mandatory, will be rolled out across the UK in phases over the coming months.
