Police / Police appeal over town roundabout ‘hit and run’
POLICE in Shetland are appealing for witnesses to a “hit and run” incident said to have occurred in Lerwick on Wednesday lunchtime.
Officers said the incident occurred at around 12.30pm at the town’s Sea Road, near the Tesco supermarket, where a maroon motor vehicle collided with a silver motor vehicle that was already on the roundabout.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and drove off north along North Lochside.
Meanwhile, police are also seeking witnesses regarding a reported vandalism at the parking area near to Bixter playpark between numbers 10-16 Lingaro.
A silver vehicle parked in the area had both of its passenger side tyres punctured sometime between 4pm on Friday (13 November) and 10.30am on Saturday (14 November).
Anyone with information regarding either incident can contact police by dialling the non-emergency 101 number. Alternatively people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
