Emergency services / Man rescued from house fire in Lerwick
A MAN was rescued from a house fire in the Hill Grind area of Lerwick on Thursday night.
The fire service said the man was given oxygen therapy before being handed into the care of paramedics.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.17pm on Thursday, October 8 to reports of a dwelling fire at Hill Grind, Lerwick.
“Operations control mobilised three appliances to the scene, where crews rescued one male casualty from the two-storey property.
“He was given oxygen therapy before being handed into the care of paramedics.
“Firefighters worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.”
