Court / Driver caught out by dash cam
A MOTORIST from Lerwick was caught out by another driver’s dash cam when he was recorded overtaking two vehicles where it was strictly prohibited to do so.
Kevin Duncan, of Bruce Crescent, was fined £400 at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to the offence in writing. The 46-year old was not present at court.
The court heard how Duncan had overtaken two vehicles on the A970 between the Blackhill Industrial Estate and the Ladies Drive junction by crossing a solid white line. The offence happened in the afternoon of 19 July.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said one of the cars involved had a dash cam fitted and the driver reported the matter to the police.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank also imposed three points on Duncan’s driving licence.
