Letters / They will go down in history

Congratulations to the Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary; I see a photo of their first turf being cut.

I wonder when we can expect a photo of the first turf being cut on the Viking Energy wind farm project?

That photo will be one for the history books.

Shetland has seen conflict in many forms, through the ages. The Vikings, Earl Patrick, the press gangs, John Walker, and still came through unscathed.

But after all that, the architects of Shetland’s destruction prove to be our own people.

Even now, it can’t be too late.

Our elected councillors may not have been in power when the decisions were made on Viking Energy, but they are responsible for looking after these islands for future generations.

It’s up to them how history will judge them!
