News / Truck sheds load at Girlsta
A LORRY carrying rocks shed some of its load just south of the 50mph speed limit zone at Girlsta this morning (Friday).
Road users have been advised to take care and drive with caution.
A spokesperson for Shetland Islands Council said the local authority and the police have been informed.
They said a number of rocks were spilled from the lorry.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55am on Friday, 28 August, police were made aware of debris on the A970 south of Girlsta, which has fallen from the rear of a truck. The local authority has been made aware and the road is currently being cleaned.”
